What genre does your book fit into?

Keep in mind there are many genres and sub genres that are evolving, but there are some fairly standard genres that people will veer towards.

The first thing to ask yourself when trying to find your story’s genre is:

“Is my book based on reality?”
If your answer is yes, you should look within the nonfiction genres. If your answer is no you should look towards fiction. For instance, if you’re writing a novel about the zombie apocalypse, your novel is fiction.

Once you’ve established whether your book is fiction or non, you need to dig a little deeper. Identify the key themes of your book. If your book is about DIY’ing around the house, you’ll have a non-fiction House & Garden book. If your book is about two characters finding love, you’re looking at a romance.
