Grammar Poem

A noun is a specific name like ‘dog’, ‘cat’, ‘phone’ or ‘Tim’.
Pronouns are more general terms: ‘it’, ‘her’, ‘us’ and ‘him’.
An adjective describes a noun: ‘frosty’, ‘warm’ or ‘pink’.
Verbs name the actions of the things we do and think.
Adverbs answer questions: how, what, where, to what extent?
A preposition relates two words: ‘up’, ‘with’, ‘for’, ‘against’.
Conjunctions link words or phrases: ‘if’, ‘and’, ‘but’, or ‘though’.
Interjections show emotion: ‘ouch’, ‘hey’, ‘whoops’, ‘bravo!’
