About the book

Life is tough when you are a little stray kitten. Bubbles, a beautiful black and white cat, shares the antics, challenges and fun in her life that make her part of the eternal cat story. After being abandoned as a kitten, this little stray persists until she finds her forever home.

This brave little warrior diligently keeps her chosen helper happy, protects her boundaries, and faces her fears. Ensuring that there are lots of brushes and naps along the way, she never gives up. Her optimistic approach to life and the love in her heart touches all who meet her.

'Sometimes when I hear her walking to the back of my house, I get on the bed and wait for her on my little books because you can’t miss an opportunity. I slow-blink her and talk nicely to her, so—Yes!—I win again. She really likes the way I don’t eat any treats until she brushes me, and I have worked out that this gets me extra brushes. She mentions the word ‘obsessed’ to me, but I don’t know what she is talking about.'

'It is raining today so I am playing with my helper in the house. I play hide and seek and I love sliding across the floor to get at the ping pong ball under the door mat. Hang on a minute, who is this good looking creature I see in the door? It is moving just like me. Wow, it is me! I have black and white fur, and look, my eyes are green. My coat is preened to perfection—nice. I must play near this door more often and check that all is in order. I’ll just strut over here and coolly line up that ping pong ball again and pretend to play so I can check my good looking self out again. I am sure now that everyone is watching me. Yep—I think now I will just take a nap as sleep is good for a girl’s complexion.'

About the Author

About the book
Casey has a new robot named Aon, and it is his job to teach him how to behave. Aon is keen to learn about the internet, so Casey informs him how children can stay safe online. There are real dangers in the world, and there are risks to using the internet as well. How will Casey teach a robot to consider the feelings of people online? Can he help Aon to understand how the actual world relates to the virtual world we use on computers and devices?

Testimonials:
"A great resource for teaching children about internet etiquette and staying safe online." RW

"We used it to create discussions in the classroom around cyberbullying, posting videos and photos online, as well as dangerous trends, identity theft and stalking." JD

About the project

We received the file as a word document and first of used our cover design services to create the cover. Then we proceeded with the book layout which involved the restructuring of over 20 complex graphs and images. Overall it ended up looking great. Once the print book was sent off to our printer, we then commenced the ebook conversion process, then uploaded to our vendors above.

About the book
Are we running the risk that society will collapse? If so, how did we come to be here and what are we doing to manage the risk?

There are several factors contributing to our risk profile, namely population growth, natural resource depletion, climate change, diminishing returns and our socio-political system that are not aligned with sustainability. Despite our cognisance of these factors, we trust in continued advance (especially in the field of technology) to keep us ahead in the race between advance and collapse, a race we created by constructing our governing system, culture and thought patterns on growth.

Life on cloud nine has never been this good. We are the most advanced, peaceful, wealthy and healthy society to ever have existed. It is difficult to envisage an alternative while you are on the peak of societal achievement. Like previous complex and successful societies, we barely alter course or reconsider our successful recipes to adequately address our risks. And like every other complex society that went before us, we are running into a dramatic decline of societal complexity.

About the Author

About the project
We first started working with Ross on a rush version of an ebook. This ebook was based on his Word document manuscript, which included 12 hand-drawn illustrations, which had then been scanned. The ebook conversion was swift, with a cover design created quickly during the process. Within only a couple of weeks, we went from manuscript to published ebook.

Later, Ross decided he wanted to have a print version of his book, and we worked with him to make this dream a reality. We first started by reviewing Ross' illustrations, which had been quite rough (scroll to the bottom of this page to see a couple examples of the original drawings). We re-drew all his illustrations digitally in Adobe Illustrator to simplify and clarify them. Once the illustrations were complete we updated the front cover to include the back and spine, and gave it a few aesthetic adjustments. ...continue reading "Genuine Government"

About the project
Peter's book project started with line editing. Once he had been through our changes and updated the manuscript, we did a further proofread.

Peter worked with our marketing team on Marketing Stage 1 Package . From this, we developed the blurb, and created a cover with impact, as well as finalising the metadata for publication.

We applied our Ebook Designer's Touch™ to the ebook and converted it ready for vendors. Once Peter was happy, we uploaded the book to our usual vendors. ...continue reading "The Dream Life of Debris: A Journey from Trauma to Healing"
